"Advanced Movers" puts T-2-4 into action again!!

This past Friday the Houston Baptist Huskies hosted a double header in soccer for both men and women. The women went head to head with Sam Houston University and the men faced off against Seattle University.

SBISD students were invited out in support of our district's T-2-4 initiative of promoting higher education. For many of our students this was their first exposure to HBU, and for some their first time ever to set foot on a College Campus. Over 100 students from 3 elementary campuses were in attendance at this event, and these schools were Hollibrook, Pine Shadows, and Westwood Elementary.

The student's hard work of maintaining good grades and good behavior paid off big for them as they enjoyed the opportunity they got to visit HBU and witness a high intensity soccer game at the collegiate level. One 4th grade student even posted on her edmodo blog "I want to be good at soccer just like they are"

SBISD was recognized at the end of the first half of the men's soccer game, and 6 students were invited to dribble the soccer ball from midfield and shoot a goal on the Huskies side.
