Sports Med Students teach First Aid at Girl Scouts meeting
Thursday
April 18 during the Ridgecrest Elementary Girl Scouts meeting the SWHS Sports
Medicine I & II students taught proper first aid, field first aid,
splinting and emergency medicine techniques. The Sports Medicine II students
from the L.I.O.N program were the Lead teachers for this project by designing
the lesson and gathering all materials needed.
The SWHS students range from 9th to 12th graders involved in a variety of organizations such as: varsity band, varsity football, varsity soccer, SWAT and the Houston ballet. We are honored and appreciate Terri Doherty and her Girl Scouts for including us in helping the girls receive their First Aid badge.

Record
Number of SBISD Tennis Players Heading to the State Tournament
Two
Spring Branch ISD tennis programs dominated the regional tennis tournament in
their respective classification and have qualified a record number of players
for the UIL State Tennis Tournament. The
Memorial HS Mustangs won the 5A Region III Regional Tennis Tournament and
qualified nine athletes for the state tournament that will be held at the
University of Texas, beginning on April 29th.

Stratford HS Spartans qualified six athletes for the state tournament after a
record performance at the 4A Region III Regional Tennis Tournament. These student-athletes will advance to the
state tournament, which will also be held at the University of Texas, on April
29th and 30th.

STRATFORD GIRLS SOCCER ADVANCES TO REGIONALS!
Last night, the Stratford girls soccer team defeated Foster to advance the the 4A Region III Soccer Tournament that will be held at Turner Stadium in Humble ISD this Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Stratford will be the home team and will play Tomball at 11:00am at Turner Stadium in the regional semi-finals. If they beat Tomball, they will play in the regional finals at Turner Stadium at 11:00am on Saturday. The winner of this game will advance to the state tournament.

SBISD Day at Constellation Field (Skeeter
Stadium), April 6th
Spring Woods vs. Northbrook (12:00pm)
Stratford vs. Memorial (3:00pm)
On Saturday, April 6th, the four Spring Branch ISD teams will
competing in rival games at Constellation Field, the new minor league baseball
facility in Sugarland for the Skeeters. Spring Woods and Northbrook HS will
square off at 12:00pm, followed by Stratford vs. Memorial at 3:00pm. Tickets
will be $3.00 for students and adults, and employees and their families will
gain free admittance. Pre-sale tickets will be available at all of the schools
and will be on sale at the district athletic office as well.
The game will be highly promoted throughout the community. SBMSA
and Spirit baseball and softball teams in uniform will gain free entry. Free
entry and transportation will be made available to our middle schools and elementary
schools that are able to participate through the SBISD Athletic
Department-Memorial Hermann partnership. For more information, please contact
